Oprah Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, with the name "Orpah". She was named after a character in the Bible, but later changed her name to "Oprah" because it was easier to pronounce. Oprah is most famous for the long running "Oprah Winfrey Show".
