Lex Luthor first appeared in Action Comics #23 (April 1940) and has since become Superman's archenemy. A power-mad billionaire, Luthor is intent on ridding the world of Superman, who he views as an obstacle to his megalomaniacal plans.

The original Prankster is Oswald Loomis, a criminal and conman who uses elaborate practical jokes to commit crimes. In his debut in Action Comics #51, the Prankster and his assistants break into a series of banks and force the employees to accept money.

Kristin Kreuk is known for her role as Lana Lang in the Superman-inspired television series Smallville. Clark's secret crush, Lana is said to be descended on her mother's side from a French witch, Countess Marguerite Isobel Theroux, whose vengeful spirit returns to possess her in a story line taking up much of season 4.

Laura Vendervoort played Clark's cousin Kara (Supergirl) on Smallville, and played Indigo (a Coluan previously known as Brainiac 8) on Supergirl.
