At the Lunch Box Museum just north of downtown, you can take a trip down memory lane, browsing a collection of over 3,000 different metal lunch boxes from the 1951 Hopalong Cassidy model to 1970s favorites like Charlie's Angels and the rare 1980s E.T. box.
It is the county seat of Muscogee County, with which it officially merged in 1970, making it the first consolidated city-county government in the State of Georgia.
