Prince had an ulterior motive when agreed to work on the soundtrack of Tim Burton's Batman. It turns out he had a crush on the female lead, Kim Basinger. Apparently, his ploy worked, as Prince and Kim dated for about a year.

He was known for his prolific output, releasing 39 albums during his life, with a vast array of unreleased projects left in a vault at his home after his death. It is believed that the vault contains dozens of fully produced albums and over 50 music videos that have never been released, along with various other media.
"Manic Monday" was written by Prince using the pseudonym "Christopher" and was originally intended for the group Apollonia 6 in 1984. It was the first single released from the Bangles' second studio album, Different Light, and became their first hit.

Although The Revolution, a multi-racial, multi-gendered musical ensemble formed shortly after the release of Prince's first album, is the most famous of his backing bands, Prince formed a number of supporting groups, including The New Power Generation (later shortened to The NPG) and 3rdEyeGirl.
In the midst of a contractual dispute with Warner Bros. in 1993, Prince changed his stage name to an unpronounceable symbol (known to fans as the "Love Symbol"), and was sometimes referred to as "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince" or simply "The Artist". He signed with Arista Records in 1998 and began referring to himself by his own name again in 2000.

Camille is an unreleased album recorded by Prince in 1986 and intended to be released under the pseudonym Camille, a feminine alter ego whose identity Prince assumed by disguising his vocals in a pitched-up and androgynous style. The gender-bending "If I Was Your Girlfriend" from Sign O' The Times is said to be a surviving track from the Camille project.
