The 11th episode of The Jetsons opens with a police officer pulling Montague Jetson, George's grandpa, over in his speeding space car and observing that he is "110 ... and still acting like a man of 75."

In the closing credits of each episode, George arrives home from a long day of button pushing. Elroy brings him his slippers. Judy brings him his pipe. And Jane brings him Astro, who is ready for a walk.

Rosie begins a romance with Mac, the janitor's accident-prone robot assistant and becomes depressed when the building superintendent deactivates him.

Elroy, who wants to be a scientist, is fond of anything that involves gadgets and robotics.

Uniblab is an obnoxious robot who becomes George's supervisor at work.

"Meet George Jetson, his boy Elroy, daughter Judy, Jane his wife..."

In "Elroy Meets Orbitty" (1985), an alien named Orbitty joins the family after Elroy discovers him on a field trip to an asteroid. Orbitty speaks in his own garbled dialect, has coil springs for legs, and changes colors according to his mood.

George's most famous catchphrase, "Jane! Stop this crazy thing!", is uttered during the end credits of the 1960s Jetsons episodes, but he is also known for frequently uttering the phrase "Hooba-dooba-dooba!" to express wonder or astonishment.

It debuted as the first program broadcast in color on ABC.
